"BERLIN (Reuters) - German police rescued an American soccer fan lost in Hanover and unable to find his hotel again after helplessly wandering around the city for more than six hours after a match, federal police said Friday.

The 25-year-old Boston man had checked into his hotel in the afternoon before going to see a match between Poland and Costa Rica but could not remember his hotel's name, its address or anything else about it, police spokesman Holger Jureczko said.

"He came into the police station at 3 a.m. and asked for help," Jureczko said.

"The only thing he could remember was paying 10 euros for a taxi ride to the city center and that he went past a park and a Mercedes dealer. There are a lot of Mercedes dealers in Hanover but we were able to find the one in the vicinity of a park."

Police took the American to the area that matched his vague description in the city of 500,000 and spent an hour driving up and down streets in that quarter until he recognized his hotel just before dawn Wednesday."

Sometimes I find myself wanting to post things in my Journal, but then I realize it isn't really this journal. It's one that people actually read because, in it, I am clever and witty and interesting things actually happen to me.

Or maybe interesting things happen to me now, it's just that there have been so many of them that they are no longer out of the ordinary for me. I think my concept of ordinary went out the window a long time ago. So, even though I say nothing has happened, maybe something has. Maybe one of these days I will actually wake up. Maybe my ambition will come back to me, and things will seem amazing again. Maybe one day everyone will just suddenly stop being stupid. Maybe one day I will figure out where to put the fabric softener in my washing machine.

Late last month, I deduced from first-hand experience that fashion shows consist of lots of mediocre to bad music, and over-enthusiastic dancing.

I realized that a good portion of the links I consider mention-worthy on account of their sheer stupidity have to do with things that are furry that ought not to be.

I received Warcraft 3 from Daniel as a Christmas present. May he burn in hell.

Here's how my day went:
Hours spent playing Warcraft 3: ~15
Hours spent studying for upcoming final: 0
As you may (correctly) infer, the last 4 or 5 days have also followed this pattern. I rule.

In truth, I really wish I would have had this evil game in August. Then I might not have spent 16 hours per day sleeping and otherwise avoiding interaction.

Other than shirking duties I haven't really done much in the last month. In fact, that's all I have done since I left Virginia, excluding the few days I actually helped Dan move by nagging at him to get shit done. If you can call that help. Unfortunately, this sort of day, while personally rewarding, yields absolutely nothing interesting or worth noting. It also breed antisocial tendencies. I'll let you decide if that is bad or good.

Don't get me wrong; some days, I want to be social, and flirt and laugh and have lots of friends. But most days I really don't care, and it's just too much work to pretend to be who people want me to. It's exhausting. Costs outweigh the benefits.

I have nothing to say to people anyway.

Except that Daniel speaking German is hilarious.
And that I didn't drop off the face of the earth.

Yet.

As most of you know, I am back in Terre Haute now, and have seen and hung out with most of the cool people I wanted to find.

Also, my computer is now working, which means I will be contact-able via AIM, as is typically the case.

Things are going well.
